NOTICE TO ALL PHOTOGRAPHERS AROUND THE WORLD:
“DEAD HORSE” ARGUMENTS ARE NO LONGER ALLOWED, UNLESS THEY ARE STRICTLY HUMOROUS!
…Seriously foks, isn’t it boring to argue about things that totally don’t matter? Or make comparisons that are totally pointless? DON’T YOU HAVE SOMETHING BETTER TO DO WITH YOUR TIME? Sheesh.
I guess the straw that broke this camel’s back was the endless sea of threads on forums comparing the new Nikons and Canons, and completely praising one or the other, and bashing the compeition. HOW BORING!!! (Unless it’s totally tongue-in-cheek, which makes me laugh…)
Most notably, the silly comparisons between the 40D and the D300. Oh my gosh, people! These two cameras are totally aimed at completely different photographers!
If we spent more of our time taking pictures, maybe one day we would realize what kind of a photographer we were, what we really enjoy shooting, and what we don’t ever really shoot… THEN maybe, just maybe, the best camera for US would be a no-brainer. AND, we would naturally flock together with other photographers who enjoy the same things, and we would be able to have civilized discussions about camera equipment. *GASP!!!*
There would be no more people trying to shove high ISO performance or full-frame sensors down other people’s throats. Get over it, some shooters don’t shoot in the pitch dark, or need insanely shallow DOF and a zillion megapixels.
Conversely, there would be no more people trying to pretend like ISO 100 is all you ever need etc, saying “why the heck anyone would want to shoot above ISO 400 is beyond me, I only bumped up to ISO 200 once ever!” GET OVER IT, some shooters make a living by shooting in the pitch dark, and they need ISO 3200 to look nice and clean.
Etc. etc. You get the picture…
